Head of EU Books Subscriptions

About the role

Lead the Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading subscription strategy across five European marketplaces (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain). You will shape the vision, roadmap, and growth initiatives for a multi‑billion‑dollar business, driving subscriber acquisition, engagement, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a multiyear subscription growth vision, prioritising content acquisition, marketing, and product improvements.
• Develop acquisition tactics such as extended free trials, device bundles, and leveraging Prime Reading to attract new members.
• Design engagement programs that onboard subscribers, showcase new titles, and increase membership tenure.
• Collaborate with Vendor Managers and Brand Specialists to expand Kindle Unlimited selection and improve publisher terms.
• Manage the EU subscription P&L, including pricing adjustments and profitability optimisation.
• Represent the EU Demand team on the broader EU leadership board and coordinate with the worldwide Kindle Unlimited team.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in subscription, digital media, or e‑commerce growth.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a track record of delivering measurable results.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, working with finance, legal, product, and vendor teams.
• Deep understanding of European regulatory environments affecting subscription pricing and consumer rights.
