Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications

About the role

The Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications leads the development and execution of ING's communications and marketing strategy in Luxembourg, ensuring alignment with global corporate objectives while adapting to the local market.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the creation and implementation of Luxembourg communication and marketing plans, managing the associated budget.
• Tailor initiatives to the local market while maintaining consistency with global strategic goals.
• Select and manage external vendors supporting communication projects.
• Collaborate with the Luxembourg CEO and business line heads to craft executive messaging and internal/external communications that drive engagement and buy‑in.
• Lead communication for special projects, change initiatives, and the repositioning of Wholesale and Private Banking.
• Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, especially media, and coordinate responses to sensitive issues.
• Monitor media coverage and reputation, providing media training for external‑facing staff.
• Lead the Brand, Marketing and Communications team, handling performance, talent development, and participation in global functional forums.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in public relations, external communications or marketing, preferably within financial or professional services.
• Degree in Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
• Proven experience in crisis communications and leading communications for large‑scale change projects, with strong knowledge of risk, control and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly build strong relationships across Luxembourg’s media landscape.
