Finance Manager / Controller

About the role

Hopae is looking for a Finance Manager / Controller to own the financial infrastructure of a fast‑growing identity‑verification company operating in four countries. You will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, reporting to leadership and ensuring the books are always investor‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end close, journal entries, reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, expense workflows, cash‑flow forecasting and treasury operations.
• Maintain a clean, auditable general ledger across multiple entities and currencies.
• Coordinate external accountants, auditors and tax advisors to ensure statutory, tax and regulatory compliance.
• Design and implement financial controls, policies and tooling (ERP, billing, expense) for a growing team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance at a controller, senior accountant or accounting manager level.
• Strong foundation in GAAP and/or IFRS and experience in high‑growth tech or startup environments.
• Proven ability to build processes from scratch across entities and currencies.
• Self‑directed, dependable and comfortable working remotely in an asynchronous, cross‑timezone setting.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with modern ERP and accounting systems.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
