Finance Manager / Controller

About the role

Hopae is seeking a Finance Manager / Controller to own the financial infrastructure of a fast‑growing identity‑verification platform operating across four countries. You will work directly with leadership, ensuring the books are investor‑ready and building the controls that will support the next phase of growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle: month‑end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, expense workflows, cash‑flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury operations.
• Maintain a clean, auditable general ledger across multiple entities and currencies.
• Coordinate external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance.
• Design and implement financial controls, policies, and tooling (ERP, billing, expense) for future scaling.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance at a controller, senior accountant, or accounting manager level.
• Strong foundation in GAAP and/or IFRS with the ability to own a close independently.
• Background in startup or high‑growth tech environments, building processes from scratch across entities and currencies.
• Self‑directed, dependable in a remote, asynchronous, cross‑timezone setting; based in Luxembourg.
• Precise, organized, and an excellent communicator.

Required skills

• Proficiency with modern ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel / spreadsheet skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
