Engineering Manager - Account Experience

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for the merchant‑facing platform that powers onboarding, account management, workflow automation and AI‑enhanced experiences. This fully remote position combines strategic leadership with hands‑on technical involvement, ensuring the platform remains reliable, scalable and performant for businesses worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a remote engineering team delivering high‑quality merchant platform features.
• Coach, mentor and develop engineers through performance reviews and career planning.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews, guiding decisions on scalability, latency, reliability and data integrity.
• Collaborate with product leadership to define roadmaps, prioritize work and manage risks.
• Drive operational excellence via monitoring, incident response and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the evolution of AI‑powered merchant experiences while maintaining platform stability.
• Recruit, hire and retain top engineering talent as the organization scales.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams with responsibility for delivery and employee development.
• Strong technical background enabling evaluation of system designs and architectural trade‑offs.
• Experience building and operating large‑scale backend, infrastructure or platform systems where reliability is critical.
• Ability to lead in high‑autonomy environments with evolving priorities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
