Engineer, Satellite Platform Engineering

About the role

The Engineer, Satellite Platform Engineering joins a trans‑Atlantic team that supports the full satellite lifecycle—from procurement and launch to on‑orbit operations and re‑orbit. You will ensure high service availability by applying specialised expertise in avionics, attitude control, propulsion, power and thermal systems.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor telemetry data, evaluate satellite health, trend against models and forecast performance changes.
• Provide engineering support for satellite requirement definitions, proposal evaluations, negotiations and design analysis.
• Define satellite integration requirements, create test plans, conduct acceptance tests and resolve issues.
• Support launch preparations, including mission design reviews and post‑launch orbit‑raising activities.
• Develop, validate and maintain operational procedures, tools and automation processes.
• Offer technical advice to internal teams and satellite users on capabilities and performance.
• Perform engineering analysis, modelling and parameter adjustments to meet new business needs.
• Prepare on‑orbit performance reports for internal and external customers.
• Participate in rotating on‑call duties, including weekend and emergency support, with possible travel to the control centre.

Required profile

• Proven experience in satellite platform engineering or satellite operations support.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve system anomalies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional engineering teams.
