Engineer IT Systems and Middleware Support

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineer to own and evolve our monitoring, alerting and operational dashboards while ensuring the stability of Linux and Windows environments. The role combines hands‑on system administration, middleware patching, and the delivery of automation projects in an Agile, Azure‑only setting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain monitoring solutions using tools such as Checkmk, Grafana, Nagios, Datadog or Zabbix.
• Administer Linux and Windows servers, plan and execute regular patching and updates.
• Coordinate middleware updates, communicating clearly to minimise disruption.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to enforce security best practices.
• Lead IT projects, including system migrations and operational improvements, from planning through execution.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop scripts or tooling to reduce manual effort.
• Manage incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and system availability.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and escalation process for critical incidents.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in IT Operations or Support, capable of working independently on complex systems.
• Strong communication skills in English; German or French is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead end‑to‑end IT projects and work with multiple stakeholders.
