Deputy Headteacher – Primary

About the role

St George's International School Luxembourg is seeking an inspiring Deputy Headteacher for its Primary School. This permanent, full‑time position will join the Primary Leadership Team to support the Headteacher in delivering high‑quality teaching, learning and pastoral care.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Headteacher to provide strategic and operational leadership across the Primary School.
• Lead curriculum development and ensure consistently high standards and excellent pupil outcomes.
• Support day‑to‑day management, fostering an inclusive, ambitious culture.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff, promoting continuous improvement.
• Drive whole‑school improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic priorities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community.
• Deputise for the Headteacher when required, providing effective leadership in their absence.

Required profile

• Proven success in senior leadership within a Primary School.
• Strong commitment to high‑quality teaching, learning and curriculum development.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and develop colleagues through coaching and collaborative leadership.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Visible, approachable and supportive leadership style.
• Track record of improving standards, outcomes and pupil experiences.
