Construction Cost Engineering Manager

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Construction Cost Engineering Manager to provide cost engineering services for its North America Design & Construction portfolio. You will create accurate, defensible cost estimates and analytical outputs that guide capital investment decisions across Amazon's fulfillment, sortation, and delivery infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver independent, bottom‑up construction cost estimates for a diverse portfolio of NA building types, from retrofits to new builds.
• Develop estimates from early‑stage concepts through RFP‑ready construction drawings, adapting methodology to the information available at each phase.
• Build and maintain programmatic estimating templates for multi‑site programs such as interior renovations and mechanical system replacements.
• Produce one‑off estimates for projects with unique site conditions, non‑standard designs, or ambiguous scopes.
• Generate high‑level ROMs for early‑stage project exploration when data is limited.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools for data gathering, cost benchmarking, and pattern recognition while applying expert judgment on complex scopes.
• Contribute to the development of automation and next‑generation costing datasets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction cost engineering or cost estimating for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical judgment to handle ambiguous scopes and unique site conditions.
• Ability to partner with cross‑functional teams from concept through construction documents.
• Comfort working with AI‑enabled tools and data‑driven workflows.
