Buyer – Logistics Platforms (Ports, Barging & Transport)

About the role

ArcelorMittal is seeking a Buyer to lead the procurement of ports, barging and logistics platform services across its European sites. You will shape the purchasing strategy, ensure business continuity and deliver cost‑effective solutions for the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑develop and implement the purchasing strategy for the Ports, Barging and Logistics Platforms sub‑category.
• Cover all plant requirements in a timely manner, delivering best value for money.
• Collaborate with internal customers, CMO departments and mills to define transport contract specifications.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiate contracts, analyse supplier P&L and monitor quality.
• Drive strategic sourcing focused on total cost of ownership, benchmark contracts and achieve savings targets.
• Define and track KPI’s for cost, customer satisfaction and supplier performance.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation actions and ensure SOX compliance.
• Manage European‑level supplier relationships, perform spot buying and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or a scientific discipline.
• 5‑7 years of procurement experience, including people‑management responsibilities.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with comfort handling numbers.
• Excellent negotiation and project‑management skills.
• Ability to discuss technical topics and drive change across functions.
