Business Analyst – Data & Analytics (Economics Domain)

About the role

As a Business Analyst you will support the Economics Department of a European public institution, managing and analysing macro‑economic and sovereign risk data used across the bank. You will ensure data consistency, quality and availability for internal analysis and publications.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update databases containing macro‑economic and sovereign risk indicators.
• Curate, clean, validate and manage datasets from international institutions, public sources and licensed providers.
• Develop, implement and maintain SQL queries, database views and improve data structures and metadata.
• Automate data ingestion, transformation, validation and consistency checks using Python and SQL.
• Maintain and enhance data processing scripts and analytical tools; perform ad‑hoc analysis in Excel.
• Create and update reports and dashboards, primarily using Power BI, with optional contributions in SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Support initiatives to improve data quality and consistency across services and respond to internal data requests.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Engineering, Information Science or a related field.
• Proven experience in data analysis within a financial services institution.
• Strong understanding of macro‑economic and financial data, including country‑level indicators and sovereign risk concepts.
• Advanced working knowledge of SQL, Python, Excel and Power BI.
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong analytical thinking.
