Anthropology Quality Assurance Lead (Remote)

About the role

This is an hourly, remote contractor position leading quality assurance for anthropology‑focused AI training projects. You will ensure that all AI‑generated anthropology content and trainer work meet rigorous academic and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across anthropology data projects.
• Review AI‑generated content and trainer/QA outputs against detailed project rubrics.
• Provide precise written feedback and ensure contributors follow quality standards.
• Assess work for anthropological accuracy, cultural context, methodological rigor, ethical awareness, bias sensitivity, terminology quality, clarity, and formatting.
• Identify recurring quality issues, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, and support onboarding.
• Maintain documentation and reactivate contributors who are not working consistently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Linguistic Anthropology, Sociology, Area Studies, Museum Studies, or a closely related field.
• Strong command of English for following guidelines, communication, and written feedback.
• 3+ years of experience in anthropology research, teaching, ethnography, archaeology, museum/heritage work, cultural analysis, academic writing, or fieldwork.
• Deep understanding of anthropological theory, cultural relativism, ethnographic methods, kinship, ritual, language‑culture relationships, material culture, human evolution, ethics, and representation.
• Ability to evaluate content against rubrics and spot issues such as cultural stereotyping, ethnocentrism, outdated terminology, methodological errors, weak contextualization, or ethically problematic framing.
