AI/ML Engineer – Mid-Level (Data Science & MLOps)

About the role

We are seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join the Cronos Europa team within a European financial institution. The role will work alongside senior data scientists and software developers to build and operationalise predictive models while adhering to strict regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean and prepare data, perform feature engineering and exploratory analysis.
• Develop, train, validate and document machine-learning models ensuring reproducibility and explainability.
• Maintain datasets, modelling artefacts, KPIs and experiment records.
• Design and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines integrated with the institution’s Data Warehouse and Denodo.
• Contribute to the definition and implementation of DevOps/MLOps operating models, pilot CI/CD pipelines across DEV, TST, UAT and PRD environments.
• Coordinate cross-application releases and ensure compliance with Azure Landing Zone and internal governance.
• Support daily operations of data pipelines, models and services, provide reporting and stakeholder communication, and document processes for knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in AI/ML engineering or related data-science roles.
• Strong programming background with Python and at least one of Java, C++ or Scala.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Experience with data-science libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn and matplotlib.
• Familiarity with data-warehouse integration and tools like Denodo.
• Exposure to DevOps/MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker) and Azure cloud services.
• English language proficiency at B2 level or higher.
