Accountant – Fixed-term (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Accountant to join our finance team on a fixed‑term basis, covering a maternity leave from September 2026 to September 2027. This position offers the chance to work in an international, multicultural environment based in Luxembourg.

Key responsibilities

• Process, review and record supplier invoices in the accounting system.
• Prepare and post accrual entries for accurate financial reporting.
• Manage daily bank transaction bookkeeping and perform reconciliations.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to support business operations.
• Contribute to the monthly financial close, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain organized, compliant accounting records and documentation.
• Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Assist in preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns alongside senior accountants and external advisors.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting or administration role.
• Detail‑oriented, organized and able to take ownership of tasks.
• Fluent in English and/or Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Business Central ERP (basic knowledge).
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
