Systems & Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

HITEC Luxembourg is seeking a Systems & Cybersecurity Engineer to join its Software & ICT department. In a hybrid setting, you will balance operational ICT duties with the responsibility of being the department’s cybersecurity specialist, working on Linux‑based systems, networking, cloud, and hyper‑converged platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the reference cybersecurity engineer for the SW & ICT team.
• Help define and improve the company‑wide security framework.
• Support project teams on security topics, risk evaluation, and secure design.
• Design and propose enhancements for security architectures, tools, and best practices.
• Implement security controls, hardening, monitoring, and compliance measures.
• Participate in incident response and security assessments.
• Maintain and support hybrid infrastructure including Linux (Debian, RedHat), Cisco and Fortinet networking, VMWare/Nutanix/KVM virtualization, AWS and Azure cloud services.
• Use DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, SonarQube, and container registries.
• Manage monitoring stack (Grafana, Telegraf, InfluxDB, Prometheus) and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Assist in deployment, maintenance, and evolution of operational systems and services.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience building or supporting customer security infrastructure or network solutions.
• Deep understanding of network protocols and security components.
• Strong interest in taking ownership of cybersecurity initiatives.
