System Architect – Microsoft Exchange Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a System Architect to join an EU Institution in Luxembourg. The role focuses on designing, implementing and maintaining on‑premise Microsoft Exchange environments across several versions while providing expert guidance to the wider IT team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain Microsoft Exchange on‑premise architecture (2012, 2013, 2019) across multiple sites.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert for Exchange and Terminal Server environments, delivering high‑level support and guidance.
• Lead Exchange upgrade, migration and modernization projects, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting.
• Monitor systems, apply patches and enforce security standards.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure incidents to guarantee high availability and performance.
• Support file migration from Windows Server to OpenText solutions.
• Participate in on‑call, early‑shift and late‑shift operational support.

Required profile

• Infrastructure engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Exchange on‑premise (2012/2013/2019) and Terminal Server.
• Experience planning and executing Exchange upgrades and migrations.
• Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and scripting.
• Ability to keep Exchange environments up‑to‑date with patches and security updates.
• Willingness to work shift‑based and on‑call support schedules.
• Strong diagnostic skills for Windows and Microsoft infrastructure incidents.
