Specialist (SR) Fuel Management

About the role

The Specialist (SR) Fuel Management ensures that Cargolux’s aircraft have the right amount of jet fuel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) available at the right time, cost and reliability. The role combines supply‑chain expertise, data analytics and project execution to optimise one of the airline’s largest cost drivers across a global network.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate fuel supply and fueling activities worldwide to guarantee safe, reliable and uninterrupted operations.
• Support self‑supply and trading of jet fuel and SAF through the CVFuel subsidiary.
• Lead flight‑tankering initiatives, balancing cost optimisation, fuel availability and operational performance.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with fuel suppliers, airport operators, infrastructure partners and government stakeholders, while tracking supplier performance.
• Represent Cargolux in international fuel consortia, contributing to governance, investment decisions and strategic planning.
• Develop reports, dashboards and business analyses to identify pricing trends, risks and efficiency opportunities.
• Lead cross‑functional projects, process‑improvement initiatives, technology deployments and digitalisation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, sustainability and internal governance requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in logistics operations or project management, with a proven record of delivering complex initiatives.
• Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
• Experience in operational troubleshooting, vendor coordination and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to global stations.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
