Senior Spacecraft Product Assurance Engineer – IRIS2

About the role

SES is seeking a (Senior) Satellite Product Assurance Engineer to support the development and delivery of the IRIS² Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellite constellation. You will ensure mission reliability throughout the satellite lifecycle, from design to early on‑orbit operations, in a demanding radiation and long‑lifetime environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the project Product Assurance & Safety (PA&S) baseline for the space segment.
• Review contractors’ plans, specifications and execution of the PA&S programme.
• Guide and monitor implementation of PA&S requirements, participate in design reviews and manage corrective actions.
• Represent SES on boards handling non‑conformances, failure reviews, and test reviews.
• Ensure software PA and configuration management requirements are applied across the space segment.
• Conduct quality‑assurance audits, inspections, test witnessing and configuration inspections during integration and test phases.
• Support definition of formal acceptance requirements and conduct acceptance reviews of contractual deliverables.
• Prepare design trade‑offs, analyses and reports using RAMS methodology.

Required profile

• Proven experience in spacecraft product assurance, safety and reliability engineering.
• Familiarity with MEO communication satellite environments and long‑duration missions.
• Ability to work closely with systems engineering, payload, propulsion, manufacturing and supplier teams.
• Strong analytical skills for risk identification and mitigation.
