Senior Software Systems Architect – Digital Applications

About the role

Thales Alenia Space is looking for a Senior Software Systems Architect to define and evolve the architecture of complex digital applications that support engineering, operational and space‑related activities. You will translate business, user and operational needs into sustainable application architectures and guide technology decisions across the digital product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture of digital solutions and drive its evolution throughout the product lifecycle.
• Define application architectures across front‑end, back‑end, data, APIs and integration with internal and external systems.
• Collaborate with UI/UX experts to ensure the architecture supports consistent user experiences.
• Lead technology selection, balancing usability, performance, interoperability, cybersecurity, cost and maintainability.
• Promote reusable components, common patterns and architectural consistency across the portfolio.
• Maintain architecture baselines and technical documentation for implementation, integration and evolution.
• Work with Cybersecurity Authority, DevSecOps, integration and validation teams to verify architectural decisions.
• Provide technical leadership during bids, customer discussions and engineering activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software architecture or application design for complex digital solutions.
• Strong ability to structure complex needs into clear components, interfaces, responsibilities and data flows.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments and providing technical leadership.
