Senior Relationship Manager

About the role

As a Senior Relationship Manager at Northern Trust, you will act as the primary liaison for C‑level executives, aligning client strategic goals with the firm’s growth objectives. You will oversee a portfolio of high‑value clients across custody, fund accounting and transfer agency services, ensuring exceptional service and revenue expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders in client organisations.
• Drive client‑led product development initiatives in close collaboration with product teams.
• Own the legal and commercial relationship, negotiating fees, contracts and rebids.
• Monitor performance against contractual agreements and manage cross‑selling opportunities.
• Price new business opportunities and support scalable growth across jurisdictions.
• Maintain client governance, document and mitigate client‑related risk issues.
• Participate in projects such as fund launches, mergers and closures.
• Connect client needs with Northern Trust’s Operations, Products and Transformation teams.
• Leverage industry trends to identify commercial opportunities.
• Represent relationship management in internal steering groups and committees.

Required profile

• Proven track record in senior‑level relationship management within the financial services sector.
• Experience working with C‑level executives and delivering risk‑informed decisions.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to negotiate complex contracts.
