Senior Observability Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Observability Engineer to lead the design, implementation and scaling of observability solutions across our applications and services. The role will be based in Luxembourg with a hybrid work model, collaborating closely with DevOps, SRE and application teams.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and scale observability across applications (logs, metrics, traces) using Dynatrace, ELK Stack, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Consolidate monitoring data into unified dashboards, define KPIs and enable distributed tracing for micro‑services.
• Design Elastic Enterprise cluster architecture, cost‑optimized data tiering and enterprise‑grade RBAC.
• Lead migration from Splunk to ELK, decommission Splunk forwarders and deploy Elastic Agents.
• Integrate synthetic testing (Typescript/Playwright) with Elastic APM and modern testing solutions.
• Establish monitoring standards, alerting and correlation strategies, and embed Observability‑as‑Code into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent senior experience.
• Proven experience with Splunk‑to‑ELK migrations and deep knowledge of Elastic Stack clustering, ILM and data tiering.
• Hands‑on experience with Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus in cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitLab).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker and synthetic testing tools.
