Senior Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join a leading biotechnology company in Capellen. Reporting to the Director of Design Engineering, you will translate customer needs into manufacturable designs and support high‑volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Convert customer requirements into accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Create and maintain 2D/3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Serve as the primary liaison between customers, sales, and manufacturing to ensure design intent is met.
• Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and improve drawing quality, standardisation, and processes.
• Manage Bills of Materials, engineering change requests, and related documentation within PLM/ERP systems.
• Participate in design reviews and drive continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of design engineering or drafting experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Advanced SolidWorks expertise, including part modelling, assemblies, and technical drawing creation.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and ASME/ISO drawing standards.
• Experience with BOM management, engineering change processes, and PLM/ERP systems.
• Background in medical devices, bioprocessing, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting.
