Senior Data Network Engineer – F5 VELOS & Automation

About the role

The Senior Data Network Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, and continuously improving the enterprise load‑balancing service built on F5 VELOS technology. The role blends deep operational expertise with automation, documentation, and DevOps practices to ensure high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain stability, resilience, and performance of the F5 VELOS platform.
• Resolve Level 2 incidents within SLA, perform root‑cause analysis and support major incident management.
• Administer BIG‑IP tenants, LTM, device clustering, traffic groups, VLANs, SNAT, virtual servers, pools, health monitors, SSL and persistence profiles, and iRules.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, REST APIs, YAML and JSON for tasks such as virtual server deployment, pool management, SSL certificate rollout, tenant provisioning, configuration validation, backup/restore and compliance verification.
• Use NetBox as the authoritative CMDB, ensuring configuration data accuracy, consistency, and that all infrastructure changes are reflected before deployment.
• Support monitoring and observability by analysing system performance, investigating alarms, and contributing to capacity planning.

Required profile

• Strong background in network operations and load‑balancing services, preferably with F5 technologies.
• Experience handling Level 2 incidents, on‑call rotations, and problem management.
• Proven ability to automate operational processes and implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices.
• Attention to detail for maintaining accurate CMDB data and documentation.
