Satellite Imagery Operator

About the role

Starion Luxembourg is looking for a Satellite Imagery Operator to join its Earth Observation team at the Mission Control & Data Processing Centre in Windhof. You will support end‑to‑end satellite imagery operations, from request handling to secure distribution, ensuring 24/7 system availability for governmental and commercial users.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in pre‑operational activities such as system commissioning and qualification.
• Manage image requests, prioritize daily tasks with ground operators, and oversee secure imagery dissemination.
• Maintain imagery databases, ground systems, and develop ground‑operations procedures.
• Act as out‑of‑hours coordinator, handling production responsibilities and performing quality checks.

Required profile

• Technical School diploma or Bachelor/Master in Informatics, Geomatics, Geography, or equivalent.
• EU citizenship (required for security clearance).
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work in a complex IT environment, follow procedures, and interact with users and clients.

Required skills

• FTP‑based delivery handling.
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS) knowledge.
• Hands‑on experience with Earth Observation systems.
