About the role
Located in the heart of Luxembourg city, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) hosts over 53,000 international securities and brings together teams covering listing, trading, information services and the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX). The Regulatory Affairs Intern will support the Head of Government Relations & Regulatory Strategy and collaborate with operational teams to ensure regulatory compliance and explore new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research on legal and regulatory issues linked to capital markets (MiFID II/R, Market Abuse Regulation, Prospectus Regulation, Transparency Directive, Benchmarks Regulation, Central Securities Depositories Regulation, Sustainable and Digital Finance frameworks, and related delegated and implementing acts).
- Monitor developments in international, European and domestic legal frameworks to anticipate changes that could affect LuxSE and identify new business opportunities.
- Support the development of new services and products in line with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist the Head and Department Officers in advocacy efforts, including responding to consultations and preparing position papers via industry associations.
- Maintain proactive dialogue with local, European and international authorities.
- Participate in internal business/project steering committees and working groups.
- Draft and review internal policies and regulations.
Required profile
- University degree or equivalent certification in Law (or close to graduation).
- At least six months of internship or consulting experience in relevant fields, preferably in a law or consulting firm.
- Experience with digital and sustainable finance regulation (research or previous internships) is an advantage.
- Basic technical knowledge and strong interest in capital markets regulation.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English; French is a plus.
- High sense of responsibility, organization, initiative and problem‑solving ability; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
