R Quality Assurance Lead - Remote

About the role

This remote, hourly contract position is for an R Quality Assurance Lead who will oversee the quality and consistency of AI‑generated R code and related data‑analysis training materials. You will evaluate output against detailed guidelines, provide precise written feedback, and ensure that contributors meet the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Spot‑check R programming and data‑analysis items produced by AI and human trainers.
• Review code, statistical explanations, visualizations, data‑wrangling steps, and modeling workflows for correctness, reproducibility, and clarity.
• Identify issues such as incorrect statistical assumptions, invalid package usage, non‑reproducible code, data leakage, or misleading charts.
• Communicate project updates and R‑specific standards on Discord and other collaboration tools.
• Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
• Support and answer questions from trainers, analysts, and reviewers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Biology).
• Strong command of English for following guidelines and providing clear feedback.
• 3+ years of professional experience using R for data analysis, statistical modeling, or technical review.
• Experience leading remote teams of trainers, analysts, or QA personnel is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable with Discord, Google Sheets/Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and project‑management systems.

Required skills

• R programming (base R, tidyverse, data.table, Shiny, R Markdown/Quarto).
• Key packages: dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, readr, stringr, purrr, caret/tidymodels, lme4, survival.
• Version control with Git and reproducible workflow practices.
• Familiarity with AI training data pipelines, code QA, and rubric‑based review.
