Quantitative Analyst Trainee (5‑month internship)

About the role

The European Investment Fund is looking for a motivated Trainee – Quantitative Analyst to join its Quantitative Modelling and Data Science (QMDS) team in Luxembourg. Over a 5‑month period starting September 2026, you will help design and build an interactive dashboard that automates NAV data ingestion, computes quarterly value‑creation figures, and visualises results for internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the existing NAV Monitoring tool architecture, including data sources from Business Objects and eFront, and the R‑based calculation pipeline.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a dashboard interface covering data ingestion, processing workflows, and visualisation of quarterly NAV updates.
• Assist in testing, validating, and documenting dashboard functionalities to ensure output consistency with the current R framework.
• Support iterative improvements based on feedback from Investment Office, Risk, and Finance teams.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic trainee ready to work under the guidance of senior QMDS team members.
• Strong analytical mindset with interest in finance data and performance reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in R programming.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Business Objects and eFront data sources.
• Experience with data ingestion, processing, and visualisation concepts.
