Project Manager – Security Domain (IRIS2 Programme)

About the role

SES is looking for a Project Manager to lead the Security Domain of the IRIS² programme – the EU’s next‑generation secure satellite constellation. Based in Betzdorf, you will work in an agile environment, coordinating security work packages, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and supporting the delivery of cutting‑edge satellite connectivity services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor security work packages in line with programme milestones and budget.
• Coordinate the creation of security documentation, including risk assessments, security architecture, threat models and compliance roadmaps.
• Manage classification and handling of sensitive documents (SES Confidential, EU Sensitive) and liaise with accreditation authorities.
• Track KPIs, dependencies and risks; report progress to programme leadership.
• Support export‑control assessments and licence applications where required.
• Represent the security team in internal and external reviews, audits and coordination meetings.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, engineering and finance teams to select contractors, issue RFPs and manage contracts.

Required profile

• Experience in project management within security, aerospace or high‑tech environments.
• Familiarity with EU regulations on classified information, export control and cybersecurity.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional, agile teams and communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and a results‑oriented mindset.
