Postdoctoral Researcher in Economics

About the role

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to advance research on technology diffusion and cultural economics. Working under Professor Skerdilajda Zanaj, the fellow will contribute to a vibrant, multilingual research environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research on technology diffusion and culture, draft research papers, and prepare scientific materials for project meetings.
• Assist with teaching activities (1‑3 hours per week) and tutor undergraduate or master’s students.
• Support the preparation of future research proposals and coordinate activities of junior researchers in the same field.
• Participate in the organization of project‑related events and workshops.

Required profile

• PhD in Economics, preferably with a specialization in applied econometrics.
• Strong interest in the economics of culture and technology adoption.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct autonomous post‑doctoral level research.
• Excellent command of English or French (C1) and very good command of the other language (B2); knowledge of a third language (e.g., German) is a plus.
