oVirt / KVM Expert (Part‑time, 3‑week contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced oVirt/KVM specialist for a short‑term, part‑time engagement (approximately 2 days per week over three weeks). The consultant will work closely with the client’s infrastructure team to fine‑tune, optimise and troubleshoot a production‑grade oVirt virtualization platform, ensuring high performance, reliability and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and optimise CPU, memory, storage and network configurations for oVirt/KVM clusters.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to host hypervisors, storage domains, networking, VM lifecycle and engine services.
• Provide capacity‑planning recommendations to improve resource utilisation and support future scaling.
• Conduct workshops or hands‑on sessions to transfer knowledge of best practices and advanced oVirt features to client staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience administering oVirt (engine, hosts, storage, networking).
• Deep understanding of KVM internals, libvirt and QEMU.
• Strong Linux administration background, preferably RHEL (5+ years).
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts.
• Relevant certifications (RHCE, oVirt Certified Engineer) are a plus.
