About the role
Rotarex is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead technical product development for fire‑suppression systems. You will join the Engineering team to design, develop and validate mechanical solutions from concept through industrialisation and certification, supporting continuous innovation.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop fire‑suppression systems, creating CAD models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Perform engineering calculations for flow dynamics, valve capacity and mechanical strength.
- Support prototyping and laboratory testing, including set‑up, execution, data analysis, reporting and compliance with international standards.
- Participate in fire‑testing activities, pre‑fire and witness tests.
- Provide technical expertise during FMEA sessions and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with suppliers and external partners, manage technical documentation and certification processes.
- Propose new technical solutions and contribute to advanced fire‑suppression technology development.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of R&D engineering experience, preferably in fire‑suppression, hydraulics or fluid systems.
- Strong mechanical design and modelling skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Siemens NX or equivalent).
- Solid knowledge of engineering calculations (flow capacity, pressure drop, strength analysis).
- Experience with laboratory testing, data acquisition and analysis.
- Familiarity with industry standards and certification processes.
- Fluent English.
