Mechanical Designer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to develop enclosures, protection, and thermal‑management solutions for UAV electronic boards, airframes, wing structures, folding mechanisms and gimbals. The role combines detailed CAD work with multidisciplinary collaboration to deliver reliable, production‑ready hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Create and optimise mechanical designs for UAV parts and assemblies.
• Modify existing designs to satisfy new technical requirements.
• Produce detailed drawings, DFM documentation and specifications.
• Perform analyses to validate performance and compliance with standards.
• Prototype and test mechanical concepts.
• Collaborate with electrical, software and systems engineers to resolve multidisciplinary trade‑offs.
• Maintain traceable project models and documentation.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and testing teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with coursework in strength theory, material science, metrology and manufacturing processes (machining, molding, press‑fit, welding, gluing).
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing mechanical parts and assemblies in aerospace or instrumentation.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (required) and familiarity with other CAD tools (advantageous).
• Experience in multidisciplinary projects involving cabling, motors, power electronics, antennas and optics.
• Strong knowledge of PCB arrangement, cable management, thermal management and vibration protection.
• Understanding of control theory (PID) and aerodynamics is a plus.
