Market Risk Analyst – Luxembourg

About the role

The Market Risk Analyst will join the Market and Liquidity Risk Management department of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg. Working as part of the 2nd line of defence, you will monitor market risk metrics, compute fair values and P&L for structured products, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Daily reporting of market risk exposures, including sensitivities, VaR and stress tests.
• Compute and analyse fair values and profit‑and‑loss for structured products, warrants and foreign exchange flows.
• Identify, investigate and document market risk issues, limit excesses and remediation actions.
• Control fair values and hedge relationships during the monthly accounting process.
• Contribute to risk reporting for SREP, ICAAP and Pillar 3.
• Provide ad‑hoc analyses, simulations and support for internal audit, validation and regulatory requests.
• Develop and improve processes for monitoring derivatives and structured product valuations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in finance, economics or mathematics.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Strong understanding of financial products, especially plain‑vanilla derivatives.
• Good knowledge of valuation techniques and market‑risk regulatory standards.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with VBA and SQL.
• Familiarity with Kondor+, RiskMetrics and Bloomberg platforms.
