Manufacturing Engineering Internship – Product

About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern you will support the interface between product design and manufacturing for satellite production, applying Design for Manufacturing principles in a high‑reliability aerospace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the integration of DFM principles into product development by collaborating with design engineers during early design phases.
• Assist in aligning product definitions with production capabilities.
• Develop and document manufacturing processes for production, assembly, integration, and test activities.
• Create and maintain process flows, routings, and work instructions.
• Review engineering designs from a manufacturability perspective (tolerances, materials, assembly sequence, tooling needs).
• Prepare and update manufacturing documentation for shop‑floor use.
• Support process validation and industrialisation activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Evaluate tooling, equipment, and production setups for new or updated product designs.
• Participate in cross‑functional design reviews with product, process, quality, and production teams.
• Help troubleshoot design‑ and process‑related issues and contribute to root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in product industrialisation, DFM and manufacturing engineering.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, product development lifecycle or industrial engineering concepts is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
