Legal Counsel – 1 Year Fixed-Term (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified legal professional to join Swiss Re’s Luxembourg legal team on a one‑year fixed‑term maternity cover. The role offers a hybrid work setting and the chance to advise on corporate and regulatory matters for a global reinsurance group.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee corporate legal and regulatory matters for Luxembourg‑based entities and their global subsidiaries, ensuring compliance and sound governance.
• Provide clear, commercially‑oriented legal advice to business stakeholders across the organisation.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and inform senior management of their impact on strategy.
• Participate in legal entity meetings, prepare presentations and legal reports for senior leadership.
• Contribute to corporate restructuring projects, offering legal expertise to support business evolution.
• Develop templates, policies and processes to strengthen the legal framework and improve operational efficiency.
• Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring quality and cost‑effective support.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in Luxembourg with a minimum of three years’ experience in a law firm or international organisation.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg corporate law and regulatory environments.
• Proactive, commercially minded and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Resilient under pressure with a solutions‑oriented approach.
