Lead Observability Architect – Elastic / ELK

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Observability Architect to design and implement a modern enterprise observability platform based on the Elastic Stack. This hands‑on technical leadership position will guide the migration from legacy monitoring tools, define architecture standards, and work closely with development and operations teams across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Define the target architecture for an enterprise‑wide Elastic platform, including hot, warm and cold data‑tiering strategies.
• Lead the migration from Splunk to Elastic, replacing Splunk forwarders with Elastic Agents and integrating synthetic‑monitoring scenarios.
• Implement role‑based access control, security, and governance for Elastic clusters.
• Centralise logs, metrics and traces using Elastic, Dynatrace, Prometheus and Grafana, and design dashboards covering health, latency, availability and error rates.
• Introduce automated anomaly detection, event correlation, root‑cause analysis and observability‑as‑code in CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, infrastructure and application teams to drive adoption of modern observability practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive experience in observability, application monitoring or performance engineering.
• Deep knowledge of the Elastic Stack, including cluster architecture, Index Lifecycle Management and data tiering.
• Proven experience designing enterprise‑scale monitoring platforms and leading Splunk‑to‑Elastic migrations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
