Junior Data Engineer – Data Pipelines & Integration

About the role

As a Junior Data Engineer at KPMG Luxembourg you will help design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that support analytics and business operations. You will collaborate with senior engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to ensure data is reliable, secure and of high quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise data workflows.
• Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability.
• Assist in building and maintaining data models and databases.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement of data processes.
• Produce technical documentation and follow data‑governance best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or academic projects accepted).
• Basic knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with relational databases and data‑modeling concepts.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data‑warehousing principles.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP is a plus).
• Basic knowledge of Git and version control.
• Curiosity, analytical mindset and willingness to learn modern data‑engineering technologies.
