Junior BI Engineer (M/F)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Business Intelligence Engineer to design, develop and maintain high‑quality data models, datasets and visual reports that support data‑driven decision making across the organisation. Working closely with business analysts and data engineers, you will turn raw data into reliable, actionable insights using modern BI tools and best‑practice modelling techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Gold‑layer datasets, semantic models, KPIs and visual dashboards.
• Create and optimise data models for various business functions.
• Conduct code reviews of Bronze and Silver layer pipelines to ensure quality and performance.
• Maintain complete technical documentation for datasets, models and reports.
• Validate data accuracy across layers and support data‑governance standards.
• Troubleshoot and enhance existing reports to improve accuracy and user experience.
• Manage change requests, promote best practices and provide user support.
• Drive continuous improvement by monitoring BI trends, proposing optimisations and supporting automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or Business Intelligence.
• 2+ years of experience in BI engineering, development or data modelling.
• Experience with modern data architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Hands‑on, autonomous and comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Power BI (dataset modelling and DAX).
• Strong SQL proficiency.
• Data modelling, dimensional modelling and semantic layer design.
• ETL/ELT concepts and modern data platforms (Bronze/Silver/Gold architecture).
• Version control with Git.
