Java Backend Development Engineer

About the role

Join an Agile/DevOps tribe where you will contribute to the Payments domain by designing, developing, testing and delivering high‑quality Java solutions. You will work closely with your squad to complete the backlog of change and run activities while ensuring performance, availability and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Autonomously develop and support backlog user stories according to business specifications.
• Maintain the payment engine, focusing on control rules and inbound/outbound payment messages.
• Write and execute automated tests (unit, functional, integration, non‑functional).
• Resolve incidents related to payment applications.
• Act as IT custodian for assets in line with IT risk management.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Strong ability to work in an Agile/DevOps collaborative environment (Scrum, Continuous Delivery, Automated testing).
• Proactive, adaptable and able to anticipate needs.
• Clear, concise communication tailored to different interlocutors.
• Rigorous, precise and customer/result oriented.
• Team spirit with a willingness to learn and share knowledge.

• Java EE/JDBC, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, REST APIs.
• SQL, Oracle, DB2.
• JavaScript (Polymer, LIT), IntelliJ.
• Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Git, Maven, Azure DevOps (Boards, Pipelines), Jenkins.
• Elasticsearch, Kibana, Kafka.
• SSL/TLS, certificate management.
• Nice to have: Kubernetes, Docker.
