International Data Cleaning & QA Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking an International Data Cleaning & Quality Assurance Consultant to support its Digital Archiving and AI‑enabled document processing programme. The consultant will ensure that historical refugee registration datasets are clean, standardized, and ready for integration into the Agency’s web‑based systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review raw datasets (Excel, CSV, shapefiles) for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
• Identify and correct duplicates, missing values, and format inconsistencies.
• Standardize naming conventions, location data, and sectoral classifications.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure dataset compatibility for integration.
• Perform quality assurance checks on finalized layers and project attributes.
• Document data cleaning procedures to enable replication and transparency.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in social sciences, statistics, information management, public administration, international development, humanitarian affairs or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in data management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and standard office applications.
