Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management

About the role

We are seeking a strategic leader to head our Internal Audit and Risk Management function within General Services. The role combines oversight of audit activities, risk management support, and liaison with external assurance providers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Internal Audit function, managing the team, resources and budget.
• Develop a risk‑based audit strategy and annual plan, obtain Audit Committee approval and supervise execution of audit assignments.
• Perform and supervise operational, financial, compliance and governance audits, excluding EASA‑specific activities.
• Provide practical recommendations, monitor management action plans and report significant findings to Executive Management and the Audit Committee.
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, consultants and NIS/NIS2 coordination with the Institut luxembourgeois de régulation.
• Support the Enterprise Risk Management process by facilitating risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting.
• Act as independent whistleblowing contact and contribute to fraud‑risk awareness.
• When appointed, act as commissaire aux comptes for subsidiaries, adhering to internal rules and audit standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of experience in Internal Audit, Internal Control, Risk Management or Assurance, including managerial responsibilities.
• Proven ability to design and execute risk‑based audit plans, preferably in an international or regulated environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• High integrity, sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive matters.
• Fluent English with good working knowledge of French or German.
