Head of Information Technology

About the role

The Head of Information Technology leads the organisation's technology function, defining strategy, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and ensuring that IT services, infrastructure, applications and security effectively support business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the IT strategy, governance framework and operating model.
• Lead delivery and operation of infrastructure, cloud services, workplace technologies and enterprise applications.
• Ensure availability, performance, security and resilience of technology platforms.
• Oversee identity and access management, cybersecurity controls, business continuity and disaster recovery.
• Manage relationships with vendors, managed service providers and strategic partners.
• Support implementation, maintenance and enhancement of business‑critical systems and digital platforms.
• Coordinate technology projects, system upgrades and change initiatives with proper testing and release management.
• Monitor technology risks, regulatory obligations and internal controls, applying appropriate governance.
• Collaborate with business leaders to translate operational needs into technology solutions.
• Prepare management reporting, technology roadmaps, budgets and performance metrics.
• Build, develop and lead a high‑performing IT team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in IT leadership, preferably in a regulated or complex environment.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies, enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity and modern workplace platforms.
• Experience managing outsourced IT services, vendors and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Sound knowledge of IT governance, risk management, information security and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to lead technology transformation, manage change and deliver operational excellence.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
