Experienced Accountant – International Operations

About the role

Cogent Communications is seeking an experienced accountant to manage the books of several international subsidiaries, primarily in the Asia‑Pacific and LATAM regions. The role is based in our Leudelange office and involves close collaboration with internal teams and external accounting firms.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting transactions for international operations.
• Produce accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations, ensuring the general ledger is up‑to‑date.
• Prepare and file corporate tax, VAT, withholding and GST returns.
• Book invoices, follow up payments and reconcile supplier statements.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Liaise with local external accounting firms, reviewing and aligning their reports with group reporting.
• Handle audit requests and ensure statutory accounts are filed on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably with international finance.
• Strong command of Excel and a proactive, service‑oriented attitude.
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Authorized to work in Luxembourg.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Navision.
