Excel Quality Assurance Lead (Remote)

About the role

This remote contract position is for an Excel Quality Assurance Lead who will oversee the quality and consistency of AI‑generated spreadsheet data. You will evaluate formulas, workflows, analysis explanations, and trainer output against detailed rubrics, providing precise written feedback and ensuring contributors meet the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated Excel formulas, spreadsheet logic, and data‑analysis outputs for accuracy and clarity.
• Assess work against project‑specific guidelines, checking for correct references, circular logic, missing edge cases, and proper documentation.
• Provide detailed feedback to trainers and QA reviewers, highlighting recurring quality issues.
• Communicate updates, maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, and calibration tasks.
• Support onboarding of new contributors and reactivate inconsistent participants.
• Collaborate with remote teams using Discord, Google Docs/Sheets, and project‑management dashboards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Operations, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience using Excel for analysis, reporting, financial modeling, or spreadsheet QA.
• Strong command of English for following guidelines and delivering clear feedback.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, analysts, or QA specialists is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – formulas, functions, cell references, lookup logic, dynamic arrays, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, data validation.
• Advanced Excel features: XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, FILTER, SORT, UNIQUE, LET, LAMBDA, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA/macros, Solver, scenario modeling.
• Familiarity with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project‑management systems.
