Director, Regulatory Compliance

About the role

PayPal Europe is creating a Director, Regulatory Compliance position to shape and execute the strategic vision for its European regulatory compliance framework. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the role provides executive oversight of key compliance functions and ensures adherence to European banking regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a robust compliance framework aligned with EEA regulations.
• Lead a team of four second‑line compliance professionals and collaborate with a broader group of 25 compliance experts.
• Serve as a member of PayPal Europe’s Key Function Holders and Material Risk Takers.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities across the European Economic Area.
• Provide strategic guidance to the bank’s overall compliance program.

Required profile

• Proven experience in regulatory compliance within the financial services or payments sector.
• Deep knowledge of European banking regulations and supervisory expectations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop compliance teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills with regulators and internal senior leaders.
