Consultant Network & Security

About the role

The Consultant Network & Security acts as the dedicated technical advisor for Thales' customers, helping them define, design and implement secure network architectures. The role supports both presales activities and post‑sale roll‑out, ensuring solutions meet technical requirements and are delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Gather technical needs from customers and propose adapted security solutions.
• Define architecture and participate in the design of technical solutions.
• Provide advisory and expertise missions, including proof‑of‑concepts, statements of work and technical presentations.
• Support account managers during presales and tender processes.
• Implement and support operational teams during rollout phases.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of network security best practices, protocols and risk methodologies.
• Deliver training and knowledge transfer to customers and internal teammates.
• Coach junior consultants and trainees, overseeing their development.
• Detect, evaluate and escalate crisis situations as needed.
• Produce reporting and documentation in French and English.
• Act as backup for 1st/2nd line support and as 3rd line engineer for specific security operations.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in one or more security domains such as firewalls, web/application firewalls, sandboxing, messaging security, strong authentication (SAML, OpenID Connect), encryption (IPSEC VPN, data encryption) or hardware security modules.
• Familiarity with leading vendor technologies (Checkpoint, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Bluecoat ProxySG, McAfee Web Gateway, F5, Netscaler, DenyAll, Imperva).
• Ability to keep certifications and technical knowledge up to date.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the capacity to handle incidents and crisis situations.
• Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
