Business Intelligence Engineer – Grocery Analytics

About the role

Amazon Groceries is seeking a proactive Business Intelligence Engineer to transform data into actionable insights and support data‑driven decision‑making across its grocery business. The role can be based in London, Luxembourg, Berlin, Munich or Paris.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain key datasets that provide timely access to business information.
• Develop and support automated, user‑friendly reports, dashboards, and self‑service tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end‑to‑end reporting solutions.
• Define department KPIs and operational metrics to improve automation and robotics projects.
• Create complex SQL queries for ad‑hoc analysis and ongoing reporting.
• Analyze large data sets using SQL, Excel and other data manipulation languages.
• Ensure data integrity through QA audits and troubleshooting.
• Continuously improve reporting processes and automate data access.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports for internal and external reviews.
• Respond quickly to high‑priority requests from senior business leaders.

Required profile

• Experience with data platforms such as Redshift, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau or Amazon QuickSight.
• Background in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis packages (R, SAS, Matlab).
• Strong SQL skills and scripting experience in Python.
• Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift) is a plus.
