Associate Debt Finance

About the role

The Debt Finance Practice at White & Case is seeking an Associate to support borrowers, lenders and financial institutions on a variety of debt‑related transactions. This junior position offers the opportunity to develop core legal skills while working on syndicated loans, leveraged buyouts, refinancing and structured finance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on applicable statutes and case law to support case strategy.
• Draft basic legal documents such as term sheets, non‑disclosure agreements and simple purchase agreements under senior supervision.
• Organise and maintain case files, ensuring documents are current and accessible.
• Assist with due‑diligence by reviewing and cataloguing relevant documents.
• Support senior lawyers during negotiations by taking detailed notes and preparing agendas and presentation slides.
• Handle routine client communications to gather information and respond to inquiries.
• Perform administrative tasks including scheduling meetings and filing documents.

Required profile

• Recent law graduate or early‑career lawyer with a strong interest in finance law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
