Senior Compliance Associate

About the role

Coinbase is looking for a Senior Compliance Associate to join its Luxembourg compliance team. You will act as a strategic advisor and second‑line defender, helping the company meet EU and Luxembourg regulatory obligations while supporting rapid business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, maintain and update local compliance policies and frameworks aligned with EU/Luxembourg regulations and group standards.
• Own the Compliance Monitoring Plan and conduct thematic reviews, collaborating with the Central Compliance Testing & Assurance team.
• Prepare materials for regulator inspections, queries and governance bodies, and coordinate annual regulatory reports such as AML Risk Assessment and Annual Compliance Summary.
• Monitor consumer‑protection requirements, including conflict of interest, transparency and disclosure, and support Compliance‑by‑Design reviews for new products.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting obligations, working with data teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist the Chief Compliance Officer with AML/CFT implementation, regulatory horizon scanning and impact assessments of emerging laws.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of compliance experience within an EU‑regulated financial institution (e‑money, payment, bank or MiFID II‑regulated entity).
• Progressive responsibility across multiple compliance disciplines.
• Proven ability to prepare materials and engage directly with regulators, auditors and internal governance bodies.
• Experience leading compliance monitoring/testing programs and managing remediation tracking.
