Associate or Assistant Professor in Machine Learning & Foundation Models

About the role

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine at the University of Luxembourg seeks a dynamic scholar to join the Department of Computer Science as an Associate or Assistant Professor. The position focuses on advancing research and teaching in machine learning and foundation models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead independent research projects in machine learning, deep learning, and foundation models.
• Establish and grow a research group within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
• Teach undergraduate, master’s and doctoral courses and develop new curricula.
• Supervise PhD candidates and post‑doctoral researchers, providing mentorship and guidance.
• Collaborate with university colleagues, national research institutes, and industry partners.
• Contribute to the strategic planning of the department’s research and educational agenda.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
• Strong research track record in artificial intelligence, especially machine learning.
• Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and with industry partners.
• Publications in top‑tier AI and machine‑learning conferences or journals.
